My air bags have rudder blocks, not sure about others. My air bags are custom. I might make a thread on how to modify your air bags.

It would be interesthing to hear from others if their airbags have stopblocks.
-
Snubbers would be one of the terminologies used...but after re-reading what SHC said, I'm beginning to wonder if he isn't talking about dock locks?
Something that locks onto the DOT Bar to keep the trailer up and from moving back and forth.
Is this what you meant SHC? -
No, they swing down when you set the brakes. It keeps the trailer at dock height so it does not lower or cause the trailer to"roll" forward when they are dumped. Not a dock-lock. i know what those are, i used to repair them LOL
Here is a pic of the down. The Landstar van trailers have these and they are "up" when the bags are supplied, and then swing down like the pic below when the brakes are set and the bags are dumped.
CAXPT Thanks this. -
Ohh, A Doohickey.

Yes we have stops inside the bags now, I don't believe any manufactures are using the arms anymore, as everything new has the auto dump when the brakes are applied. This pertains to vans and reefer trailers, not sure if some new open deck manufacturers are putting in auto dump or not. I know Doonan is not, or atleast mine is not.
-
My Fontaine auto-dumps when I set the brakes. Makes backing into a dock a pain, but the only time I do that is when I'm loading/unloading Humvee's and they can get over the 6" gap it creates.
I had been looking into getting my own flatbed before the rates took a dump and was going ot get a Mac with a lift front axle and manual dump. Glad i didn't buy it yet..... -
We have a Manac flatbed triaxle with autodump... -
Very interesting, I've never seen that before. Simple action alright. It lands on that axle plate and that pivots the front upward essentially locking it solid and jamming it at height. Hmmmmm. I wonder what the proper nomenclature or terminology describes that.

Do it! I made my trailer payments all through 2008/2009. Things got tight but it ain't that bad now. O h wait - we don't know the mob rule will put the Kenyan Jack-#ss in for another term as Usurper In Chief.
