    There is a thread which outlines all the various costs. You should be able to do a search and find it. One thing that I will mention. Just because your carrier is getting certain rates doesn't necessarily mean that you will be able to get the same rates. You could do better or worse. You will need to be a good negotiator and understand where you need to run in order to find the better rates. Some do better leased to a carrier than running their own authority. If you have been booking some of your own loads and dealing with shippers or brokers then you probably understand something about negotiating rates. If you can't find the thread about getting your authority let us know and we will try to find it for you.

    he is right about the insurance my insurance is about $7200 per year not to mention the startup costs and the regular fees for having your own authority plus the other stuff have to have your own drug testing program and many other things in this business your either all in or all out no in between and no margin for error
