I'll just stick with my old Galaxy type radios thank you very much! I do like all the purdy lights though! I think I will boycott the product because of the factory installed "roger listen to me ain't I a idiot beeps". JMHO

 

Although it is not a side band radio. My 4600 turbo does over 200 watts pep.

 

Rather odd to use in their advertising photo a radio tuned to a CW freq that only has a Mic!

 

AND ....

The radio does not do CW .....

 

Cause it's a CB radio!!!!!! (sorry, just had to say it)

Seems most of you are against the roger beeps. I thought that was what made a CB "cool"?

 

I guess if you're not worried about sounding like the ultimate lid who's not concerned with his fist, you could just leave it in a.m. and key the PTT as accurately as you could for CW. Then, as soon as you send "K", switch to SSB to engage the product detector and tune the clarifier for all CW DX coming in from Wake Island and Nepal.
It could work.
I could also wake up tomorrow and suddenly be, like, 21 or 22 again....

p.s. I remember at college, it was common for the department phones to have keylocks on the dials so people without authorized access couldn't dial (you young whippersnappers will have to look that up, or ask your grandparents
In similar fashion to my improvised CW technique above, I learned to go off-hook, then just flash the hookswitch at a rate of about 10 p.p.s., which was enough for the old switches to decode, so I could usually place calls. At least local ones.
