You should feel stupid for letting some wheel shining bum up in your truck. I can tell you Florida has nothing to do with it.

I first off never let him IN my truck. He was shining the wheels and started on my passangers side wheel. I thought why not go out and see how hes doing after he spent about 10 minutes on it.

As I went out my drivers side door and around to my passanger side steer , a guy ( who I later saw talking to him across the street at the howard johnson motel ) came up the side of my truck and opened my door which I had cracked but not shut all the way.

Being that close to my truck I dident even think about someone sneaking up and being that bold.

The guy wears shorts, he offers to shine wheels from 4-6 bucks, sometimes more if they are dirty

I did call some indian hill or indian river sheriffs and trust me they want this guy bad.

I did witness him in a truck talking to a driver who later drove off pissed as he threw what looked to be a bag of coke out of the truck.

I called the cops again and reported that, they came and found me standing NEXT to the bag and tested it, took my info I had ON the truck that tossed it. Told me it was fake but still against the law to sell fake drugs. Told me to keep an eye out for this guy.

He sometimes can be seen with a younger short haired guy about 5'10 5'11 wearing a red cap .

They both shine wheels and sometimes work in pairs.

The old guy has faded blonde / grey ponytail , bad teeth, pocked marked nose and carries a black backpack around with his supplies in it.

I had a lizard at the pilot at Lancaster, tx. the other day want to give me a "shine". She had pocked marks, bad teeth to no teeth. She was a bit too high on price though,,,,I think she said $5.00...

I've gotten ripped off in Wildwood, FL a few times!!

First time: I was parked at the T/A and a guy offers to polish my wheels. OK. But, he asked me to pull over to the hotel across the street. No biggie. He starts to polish the wheels while I take a nice nap. He's done a couple of hours later and the wheels look OK. I looked to see what he was using. He was using an old beat up polisher with hardly any fabric on the wheel and he was also using NeverDull wheel polish. Oh well, lesson learned there :biggrin_25512:

Second time: Spent the whole day and first part of the night at the polish shop next to the truck wash. The crack heads were leaving every 10-15 minutes to get there fix (I really didn't notice this part till later on). The polish job again, came out just OK.

Third and last time: Pulled into the truck wash on the south side next to the T/A and waiting in line. Two guys walk up and asked for some hats (I drive a racing transporter). I asked if they were part of the wash crew. They said yes. I gave them some hats and kindly asked to have the trailer hand brushed clean, do not use the big machine with the plastic brushes. They said no problem. I finally get into the wash bay and those two guys were nowhere to be found and the real wash crew said they would not wash the trailer by hand. I said good bye.

That's why I never stop in Wildwood again!!

dont have any idea why you didnt lock your truck. 10 dollars a wheel is #### anyways. 5 a wheel 10 a tank. or spend the couple hours with some rags and polish and so it yourself for free. ( minus the 7-9 for polish and rags are on your own choice) i polish my own ride so i dont run into any stuff like this. but im sorry to here about your luck driver
