    I have a misdemeanor assault charge and until recently didn't think it would be a problem. I just got back from Swifts Academy in Millington TN where they sent me home 3 days into the school because of my charge. My recruiter knew about the charge before I went up there and said it wouldn't be a problem. Anyways, my question is, is there any trucking companies out there that will hire me with an assault charge?

    Depends on when it was, Swift did you a favor! They are not the best around, your recruiter gets paid for cheeks in the seats in class day 1....

    good luck man i have been turned down atleast 20 times i also have a assult charge from 5 yrs ago no luck my ? is why can someone with a felony get a job but not a dum misdemeanor granit i told a cop to shut his chops but still there was no harm not proud of it neither but it happened i mean s### happens come on

    Yeah my charge will be 2 years old in August this year. I actually just got off the phone with Prime inc. and they have accepted my charge so as long as everything else goes good I will be working for them here soon.

    You said the swift recruiter knew about the charge and said it was ok too,but you was still sent home. How do you know primes not gonna send you home to?

    Felonies and misdemeanors come in many different categories. My felony was child support. There is a thread here to tell exactly what went on. Your charge appears to be assaulting a police officer. That sounds bad. People have to know the whole story. When you get turned down, you can appeal all the way to the company CEO.

    Don't you realize ...That no one wants to hire someone that they are afraid to fire?...No one wants to think of the day that that you just go off on them....Most folks don't hire people that they are afraid of..
