You might look into Boyd Brothers also. There training is top notch , the pay is great, there trucks are all 08 or newer Pro Stars(When I drove for them 6 months out of school they had me in a brand new 2012) and depending on where you live they are very good about getting you home. And no I dont work for them, I get nothing for recommending them to you, I just think there a great company to cut your teeth with.:mwink:

    CAXPT Thanks this.

See my post on BTC. I was with them for 6 years. From driver to trainer and then field recruiter. They are not the company that they used to be. If I were your fiance I would choose Maverick. BTC has started to move away from caring for their drivers to caring more about the money they can make.

Oh great! I just did an app with them about an half hour ago. I wished that I had gotten into the site BEFORE, I filled it out but live and learn. Thanks for the info though.

I worked for BTC for 6 years. Started out as a good company, but now they DO NOT get their drivers home every weekend. They promise you all this money that you are going to make BUT when their trainers make 450 / week how much do you think they are going to get their regular drivers?
Ask them why they have 45 empty trucks on their yard (out of 360 trucks) if everything is so good. Ask them why their trainers are leaving and going to other companies to make money. Ask them if there are any females working for them. The policy on females is that they don't even consider hiring them when they apply, unless they make a fuss and stink about it.
I posted a big article on BTC going downhill. It was good when they cared about their drivers. NOW - they don't care about anything except the dollar. Wouldn't even reimburse a driver for a shower when he was out in the middle of nowhere. They wouldn't even reimburse me $50.00 for using my personal vehicle to do their work. Question is ----- Is that a company you REALLY want to work for????

Checking out the latest CSA scores for them, you may want to defer to someone else. They're at 60+ in 4 categories and one of them is in alert status. Means, they obviously don't get it.... but there are other companies you can check out.

Tandem, WTI, Sharkey, Swift, Roehl, TMC, Chief (formerly known as Grand Island Contract Carriers), Maverick. Heck, there's one near you Great American Lines, it's a UTSI group company, but it's based there in PA.... Ummm...Murraysville, PA at this time.

    Good Luck.
