1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

hey trashtrucker is that your end dump?

come to south florida and lease to tri-state carriers or a aggregate outfit, you wont get rich but you can pay the bills and hit the beach on the weekend.

plus tires and maintenance are dirt cheap down here.

No, that was my truck/trailer when I worked for Pritchett. I wish it was mine though, 2010 Mack Pinnacle and I think it was a '96 tri-axle capable of 78,000 gross.

Have you tried CCC subsidiary of COMCAR....Depends what you are looking for...They treated me about as good as any other trucking co....

Home every night...Sometimes only 3-4 hours....Maybe once or twice a month I had to spend a night on the road...When I did the Co. Payed for The Motel and My Meals Until They Got Me Home again!..Home every weekend...Needed me to come in 1-3 Saturdays A Year...Holidays off AT HOME...Paid Vacation....Fixed anything I wrote up...With never a growl...

Funny thing....I thought spending the odd night in a motel was fine....Some of the guys #####ed like hell...."Why can't they give me a truck with a sleeper?".....Actually remember a guy ....ranting to the dispatcher....He Wasn't Going to stay in No Motel....If They Didn't Run Him To The House Right Now...Tonight....Why He Was Going To Abandon The Trailer and Drive His Truck To The House And They Would Have To Come And Get It!..

I started with the oldest truck in the yard....Within Six Months....I turned it in for a Bran New One!....

Who are you working for now if not CCC? I worked for CCC in 04', they're good people but it's hard to make a respectable living there. I did both regional Budweiser, and local dry bulk out of Brooksville.

I am retired now....When I started with CCC I was making $600.00 - $700.00 a week... take home driving their truck ...Running As hard as I could Monday through Friday....(This was years ago)....I had great dispatchers...But they kept changing the way that they dispatched me..Every year or even less... I had to start with a new dispatcher.....Then the terminal manager.. Bobby Wilkes died...(The Greatest Boss I've ever known)...

I was getting a bigger percentage each year....But I started making less and less....Then they started a new driver program....New drivers got a raise every six months but old drivers only got a raise every year.....When I went in the office and talked to the big boss..(Open door policy)...And told them how unfair it was ....(I had safety awards and A Highway Angle Award)...They told me to Quit and hire on as a new driver...

Then I started Really Making Less.....$550.0...$500.00...$450.00...A couple of weeks I made $250.00...No more long runs...And if I did get one...It would be on friday and I'd get hung out Friday night and not get home until Saturday morning...10:30 or later....That never happened back when I was making money...

So I moved on....I'm sure that they fixed it eventually.....I guess that I just wore out my welcome....
