Many drivers during a DOT inspection will be caught without one of the cards or both! Do a check and make sure you have both cards with you and ready to hand over to DOT or Cop.

You will be put out of service if you do not have this! You do not understand how many drivers I see put out of service for this:

Also have that log book current to last duty status (now you all know I had to add that comment) :biggrin_255:

Did I forget anything you must have on the truck?
    Add to the list!

Uh....whats a road test card? I think with my first employer I might have had one but in the three since there was no such thing. This is a FMCSR rule?

Dont forget to check all your permits and cab sticker

A road test card is not required. Many truck companies don't perform a road test.

The medical card is required. However, some states provide the long form and a wallet sized medical card. Some DOT officers prefer to see the long form. I carry both.

Well this is a new one on me Logsrus. I have never heard of "a road test card" nor do I recall ever reading anything in the dot regs about this. I know you are required to have the medical card and a copy of your long form physical now a days as well as a valid class a cdl but to my knowledge that is it.
Please give me your reference material data so I may cross check it and if your right then I will alert my employer to this so we will be in compliance.

Are you even required to have a copy of your long form, I always thought it was just your license and your med card

I was informed by our safety guy it was in fact now required. My company is based out of NJ and we have 3 divisions with over 5000 trucks total (Nemf, Eastern Freightways, Carrier Ind.) and we all have to have the long from physical with us on the job.

I thought it was! I will look on the FMCSA website. Maybe it is if you have a certain number of trucks or something?

Because the drivers must have it on them when DOT pulls them over for our company. Which has 2500 drivers :biggrin_25511:

I was leased to Landstar and they have more than 2500 trucks. We never had a road test performed. I am currently leased to an Indiana company and the DOT in Indiana does have some additional requirements. The company there only has 1000 trucks.
