Asphalt Hauler Thanks this. -
This serial number is showing that it left the factory with aluminum pistons. I can't look up the service/repair history, but you can go to any CAT dealer and find out if it has been rebuilt by CAT to the 475 Hp rating with the steel top pistons.
Without having the records to show that the pistons where changed to the steel top pistons, I wouldn't go above the 410 Hp rating with good fuel codes.Asphalt Hauler Thanks this. -
Mr. Haney, I really do appreciate it. I'll call a cat dealer sometime today and check on the service history, if they did put the steel pistons on it, Ill probably be getting back with you. I would really like to get some more hp out of it for sure. Thanks again. One more question. It has a eaton fuller 10 speed in it, if I was to turn it up to around the 550 range, would it be able to handle it? I know that's probably a stupid question, but all iv ever drove was 10 speeds with low hp. Thanks.
-
Mr.Haney, I went back to the truck to have another look, and it says it is a 3406B on the door and on the block it says 3406 and the on the code column it says B. So is it possible to be a 3406b with the vin number starting with 5EK? I'm wanting the truck but I want it be a 3406E.
-
no b starts with 5ek its a E
-
Thanks for the reply little cat 500. I was thinking the same thing, but i was wanting another's opinion about it. Thanks again.
