In that case the computer should have the last location before the battery died. If the trailer was hauled any distance the gps would restart and give the new location. The only way to move the gps tracked trailer any distance without the computer knowing it is to disable the gps. That is not a lost trailer.

Supposedly the batteries are the same as the one's in a Prepass unit and last about 10yrs. They do not get their charge from the power lines ot the trailer. At least not the ones they use.

Schneider has GPS tracking in their trailers. They can locate them to within 100ft :yes2557: Yet you see their drivers running around to find 1, thats not where its suppose to be !

Oh yes, i know all about that way to good. They tend to only use the computer system to locate and assign trailers. Once you get there and it's not on the premsis, you call them and they say "oh, well what other one's are there?" I once was sent to a NC shipper to p/u a empty trailer. It was gone, and I was a bit upset cuz i had DH 250 miles to it and now was going to miss my p/u appt. The guy in trailer utilization tracked it down to being on I75 in KY.... I was like What the heck man LOL
