I'm assuming by the road test card you mean the card they give you when you complete CDL school or test with the state-approved company? I don't think the actual company you work for could be required to give a "road test card", but I do know to get the CDL you have to have the card that says you completed it by a company certified by the state for testing.
Edit: I think I still have my cycle endorsement skills test card in my wallet... I hope I never lose it.

Ok I found it! Maybe there is some exceptions to it
I only copied the main part. Click on the link and it will take you to the full requirments of a COMPANY to hire you. This is what they must do to approve you as a driver.
Subpart B ' Qualification and Disqualification of Drivers
§391.11 General qualifications of drivers.
(b)(8) Has successfully completed a driver's road test and has been issued a certificate of driver's road test in accordance with §391.31, or has presented an operator's license or a certificate of road test which the motor carrier that employs him/her has accepted as equivalent to a road test in accordance with §391.33.

Ok I re-read it the company can accept your operator's license as equivalent to the road test. So I am sure just the major companies probably want to do a road test to assure they can drive. So guess you don't need it, sorry just used to saying/hearing that phrase to have the road test card on them. I will ask next week though -
No the company that hires you should give you a road test to hire you.
Maybe the company is not aware of this or maybe you did it and don't remember?
Or maybe I am wrong, however I just read it but maybe there is exceptions -
Rings a bell now. Most companies accept a valid CDL in lieu of the road test. That is why I have had no problem. -
I just had a level 3 inspection. He wanted log book, all paperwork, bills, trk, trl, registration, CDL and DOT card.

I am wrong (wow first time for everything
). The company has the choice to accept the Operators licences as the equivelant of a road test. But our company requires it and tells the drivers to keep a copy of the road test with them at all times, so that's why I "thought" it was a requirement.
MY BAD

Sorry, I explained why I thought it was a requirement. Which it really is wise to have them do a driver test, but then again it does make them nervous with a stranger in the truck so anyhow. I don' t know I just work there.
Again sorry.
I will just stick with the log regulations

You were not wrong. You work for a company that requires it or the insurance company does.

Don't encourage her! That head barely fits behind the screen now!
