Dont be scared one bit. You as the driver makes the ultimate call on what you can and cannot achieve. Certainly one has to drive and you cannot stop at every museum along the way, but if weather is poor or you are out of hours you stop and contact your DM. They cant force you do illegal things as their job and livelihood are at stake as well.

Go to your local truck stop and ask drivers what their opinion is of Werner Enterprises. If drivers are willing to talk with you; you will get very direct answers.

Isn't this kind of like comparing a turd to a pile of crap?

Get a cup of coffee and read Prospect Magazine, the London Stock Exchange had better investment opportunities for you.

I researched local and regional trucking companies to find an employer with better corporate ethics and more honest business practices then Werner, C.R. England and other corrupted national trucking companies. I talked with owners of small (centralized) trucking companies, who downsized to about 20 trucks and provide a stable and honest income to support their drivers and their families. It gave me hope in my job search for an honest employer; however, as a new driver, it's hard to get hired by some smaller trucking companies because their business insurance does not cover drivers with less than one year of driving experience. Nevertheless, some regional trucking companies do have business insurance that cover new drivers. Unfortunately, prospective employers do not want to hire drivers who have an employment history with Werner, because Werner is simply very disreputable. Do a google search, (for example - "South Dakota Regional Trucking Companies"). Verify the trucking company is licensed and bonded and ask very specific questions when you make employment inquiries. I sincerely hope the best for you in your employment search.

When I was out on the road, I had to be very careful. I did not get too angry with my dispatchers. They did not want to let me go home and refused to assign loads to my home terminal. I had to be at my home terminal because I had an "APPROVED" medical appointment. "APPROVED" means Werner approved my home time three weeks before the actual medical appointment occurred (but, my dispatchers would not schedule my home time). Furthermore, I had scheduled "JURY DUTY" and risked arrest for not attending "JURY DUTY" because my dispatchers refused to assign swap loads that would get me home. My dispatchers were blatantly trying to intimidate and coerce me. My dispatchers assigned a load that directly passed my home terminal on the day of my medical appointment and refused pay of all other loads if I didn't accept the assignment. I simply drove directly into my home terminal, cleaned out my truck, returned the keys and did not say very much to anyone. I refused to answer any further calls from Werner. Other new drivers tried to warn me and had done exactly the same thing; but I did not believe it until I saw it for myself....which is why I opened this forum.

    Make yourself a sizable snack,
    turn your phone off,
pull the shades down on the windows,
hang the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door knob,
    lock the doors,
    cancel all appointments,
get comfy in an easy chair,
and commence to readin' about C.R. England.
    :study:
When you're finished, tell me if it still seems like Werner has the most negative comments on this website.

Yes, it's very true. C.R. England, also, is a particularly good example of "organized crime." C.R. England drivers are literally starving to death.....

I was trained by CR England, conned into leasing a truck from their leasing company, had a horrible DM that I tried to replace 3 times, then finally quit, returned their truck to Salt Lake City, Utah because I was told "all would be forgiven if I did", and they still wrecked my credit and expect me to pay the balance of my lease. I just recently got set up to run with Werner, I feel like I just shook hands with the devel...AGAIN! Can someone please say something nice about Werner. How could a company this bad remain in business all these years?
