Time to move on. Call Marten, they got a regional run out there that might get ya home weekly, and through the house too.

Glad you are doing ok at Heyl. They were my first contact after I parted with Conway but Conway was quite vindictive on my DAC so Heyl chose not to hire me. I thought we parted amicably but I guess not.

OK, I gotta ask. You say your runs are usually 4-500 mi, then say you live in Fl. and run the N.E. or out west. From Fl.-N.E. is more than 500 mi and from N.E. to "out west" is way more than 500 mi.

To answer your question. Yes I am cool with it. I have a similar situation as you. I live in TX and primarily see IN,IL,MI,OH,PA and NJ. This guarantees me miles coming and going from home so that works for me. Plus being born and raised in South Jersey allows me to get home to family far more than I ever did before

Shoot if you have to stay out 3+ weeks at a time anyway, you might as well go OTR and get the benefits of mileage. To my way of thinking regional means REGIONAL IN THE AREA YOU LIVE IN. Otherwise, there is no benefit to it. . .

My last trip out was 21 days and my longest run was 800 miles. I am Supposed to be OTR but I do not get the benefit of the long runs typically associated with OTR.

My runs are all 100-600 miles and I get home every week I make 0.38 a mile with 6 months exp this works for me... But I average 1.75 trips a day, of course this is majority drop and hook, with the occasional live unload, but never live load.

I don't think I would be willing to deal with being on short runs.without getting that 34 hour restart every weekend, of course I work for a big soulless company, but I am newer so I don't mind.

I dont know where your company is based out of but the Florida market is tough for any carrier. IF they arent based in FL and do only regional and thats what you want, i would look elsewhere. There are quite a few companies down in florida that run just the southeast, or at least get you back to florida on a weekly basis...
