I'm always wandering around here reading about how others are doing, it's interesting to see how others operate.
Down here in Clarksville, TN waiting to get unloaded. It's a nice change of pace running down south as I don't do it too often but I would like to get back out west to see the lady, but until then, miles are miles, and the navigator and I will continue to put down. After I finish up my 10 I will head up to Murray, KY to pick up a load heading to Rockford, IL with a stop in West Chicago. Just realized tonight that I hit my most recent raise on the 4th of this month, now up to .31/mi but really I'm making .355/mi with the mileage bonus so I figure that's not too bad in my first year.
H.O. Wolding is a GREAT company!

i have been talking to a lady at wolding off and on... i am really liking what i am hearing from various people about this company.
-
All is good here even though my thread on them got derailed
-
Who have you been talking to? I dealt with Carol for the most part, real nice lady and really didn't sugarcoat anything. Was told OTR to expect 2600-2800 miles a week easy, and so far that's been true, except for February but I still made the bonus. They have been good to me so far

Sorry to hear that anj, and probably by people who have never worked there either.

Sitting at my first stop in West Chicago for the night. Drove through some pretty nasty weather getting up here on 57. Just as I came into Effingham everything was wicked dark and no more than 5 minutes up the road it was like going through a car wash with lights flickering on and off with the jet dry going all at once.
Happy that cold front went through because it's wicked nice out tonight, good sleeping weather, plus I'm the only one here.
Will finish this load up in Rockford and then I'll pick up a load of scrap in Sun Prairie, WI to take to Green Bay. Glad to get that last run in before the pay cutoff, will put me over 3000 miles for the week and hopefully I'll get something long to do some weekend cruisin to start off next weekend right.Kutina Thanks this. -
Ended up with a D/H in Madison that delivered at Georgia Pacific in Green Bay to finish up this pay period. I then went and grabbed an MT in Appleton and went back to Green Bay to pick up my load, in and out in an hour and spent the night in Oak Creek, WI.
Days like today are what make doing this for a living truly awesome. It was 70-75 degrees out, clear skies, windows down, dog hanging his head out the window, no traffic through Chicago, smooth sailing all the way to where I'm parked tonight; Kingsville, OH. A great day for driving, 500 miles in 8.5 hours of driving. Will probably deliver this load tomorrow in Greenwich, NY and then bobtail to the nearest truck stop and wait til Monday morning to see what I'm doing next.
Here are the miles from this past pay period:
8/10-8/11: 834 miles
8/12-8/13: 763 miles
8/14-8/14: 125 miles
8/14-8/15: 657 miles
8/16-8/17: 561 miles
8/17-8/17: 213 miles
That adds up to 3141 paid miles with 338 of those miles at +.03 cpm. Hope everyone has a great weekend.Kutina Thanks this. -
Delivered this morning at SCA in Greenwich, NY. Going through Saratoga on NY30 on a Sunday afternoon was a real treat (sarcasm intended) but there was a lot of eye candy as well so I guess it worked itself out. Picking up at Ice River in Pittsfield, MA delivering at the Shaws DC in Wells, ME. From there I'll pick up a load of water in Poland, ME that goes to Liverpool, NY for tomorrow afternoon so it looks like I'll get to spend the night with the family. Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.

Does Wolding hire out of Florida? I live in the Tampa Bay Area of Florida and I need a job. Do they hire newbie's?
-
Bristol, they do hire newbies but the last I knew they were not hiring out of Florida at the time, but who knows, they might be now, can't hurt to call. 800.950.0054
