Well, no one else here will probably like this idea, but since I was a teen and saw a pick up painted turquoise with pink flames I have loved those colors and wanted a truck painted with those colors, it was awesome!!:yes2557:

Hubby wants to paint our truck green ( really bright green ) and black, he is also OCD when it comes to the truck. It is plain jane white right now with black frame rails, but that sucker is CLEAN and all the chrome is polished out nicely. I hate it when it rains while I am driving:biggrin_25513: I just do not look forward to that sad look on his face when I get home:biggrin_25524: I clean the truck too, but I miss spots since I have it during dark hours.

Please post pics once its done!!

I suppose I understand why OTR cabs need to be painted so dull and bland. With the need for touch up paints for rock chips it does limit. Still, I did a 550 for local construction truck. Did the lower body with a deep blue base coat and a simple redgold pearl coat. Added a yellow gold candy coat on the upper body. Then I blew of one of those glass bead coats that change color with the light for the accents. Did 8 clear coats over the accents and they have not chipped yet. The accents were on the basic and cheaper glass bead paints which change from red to yellow. He says when he comes down the road and that hood edge is changing colors, people notice and give him more rooom than they ever did with his old flat color paint job.

Does a big rig really have to look like a factory paint job with a few nice accents added?

Stick with the basic white with red fenders scheme...best looking combo on a Pete IMO.

But use a bit of variation on the theme...I'd go with an antique white and maroon/red wine color scheme if it was mine.

Dallas Peterbilt has one that's done in those colors and it IS sharp.

How about a nice tan beige color on the cab, chocolate color frame and fenders, that beige really looks nice when accented with a darker color, such as the color of a chocolate lab. Maybe call it NESS NICE,just kidding. Gold leaf lettering and pinstripes would be a plus too. Sharp I think.
