Prime (PSD) Student Questions

Trainers or Instructors? trainers take you out in the TnT phase after you have your CDL. Instructors take you out with your learners permit to prep you to get your CDL.

 

Yeah, when I was at Springfield last week, my FM told me that they are getting pounded with PSD students. I guess there was like 80 students last week and only 52 PSD instructors available. This week he said there was supposed to be over 100 students.
Then of course his next statement was " Do you want to be an PSD instructor" LOL, I stressed out my kids teaching them how to drive as it was, think I would kill a student lol.

Hi I'm at prime training now and I just found out that female trainers can train males but male trainers can not train female why is that.

 

There have been certain dirtbags who have taken advantage of a female trainee in this setting. Mr Low is determined that it will not happen again.

 

This might seem like a weird question, but when they do your height and weight for the physical, is it with your boots/shoes on or off? I am supposed to go there for orientation in a few weeks, and looking at the BMI chart I am right on the line, depending on what I get measured in at. Just curious if I should try and shed a good ten pounds in the next two weeks or if they measure with boots on, because if they do, I am pretty sure I am in the clear.

 

Shoes on... and whether or not you're close, shedding the pounds is a good thing. Part of the challenge of trucking is finding a way to feed yourself without packing the pounds on. You would believe some of the grotesquely fat truckers out there.
