I'm not gonna rant and rave like alot of drivers I'm just gonna state the facts:
1. I worked for Malone for 5 months
2. In that time I grossed to the truck $60,000.00 so I ran hard
3. Out of that $60,000.00 I took Home $4,400.00
4. The last 11 weeks I drew no money
5. They do not advance fuel for deadhead miles or account for Idle time.
6. I ran out of fuel due to there policy 4 times which cost me over $1000.00 in service truck fees
When I finally decided I had enough, I picked a load around 3pm on Wednesday that required an appointment be made for delivery, the company i was delivering to had already closed so i called them the next day, the soonest appointment time they had was 1:30 pm Friday which was fine with me because the load took me through the house. I got home around 4pm Thursday and took the day, the next morning I was running low on fuel so I called dispatch to have fuel money put on my pay card since there was no truck stop around that took comdata and my pay card works like debit so I could get fuel anywhere, keep in mind I had already ran out of fuel with them 4 times already at $250-$310 each time, after arguing about how far i could go on empty with dispatch they finally at 11:45 put the money on my fuel card, now never mind that the comdata fuel card was useless in this area as I told them, I was supposed to be in Atlanta 2 hours away, so I missed my appointment and had to reset it for Monday, which also screwed me out of a pre-plan Atlanta to Houston i had set up that morning. I told my dispatcher that I will probably run out of fuel trying to get to a truck stop that would take comdata and his exact words were "ok" I called him back and told him to send one of the new suckers UH UH I mean drivers that just got out orientation that day to get the load and truck that I was done, and I would meet them with the keys and clean my stuff out of the truck and they could deliver the load Monday, about an hour later they sent a wrecker to get the truck, so I am expecting them to try and put an abandonment on my DAC report, I will let y'all know, but what they don't know is i had the wrecker driver sign saying i met him with the keys and got my stuff out, so i hope they do try that after refusing to give me fuel, yeah I do.
STAY CLEAR OF CRST MALONE.
Other things worth a mention.
You pay .12 per mile to a maintenance fund I paid $5000.00+ you never get any of that back.
You pay all permits, plates, road tax, ifta they cover nothing but the cargo insurance.
Trailer rent is $185 per week
Summing up CRST Malone

Guess I'm lost and stuck on the fact that with 10 years of experience you ran out of fuel 4 times.
Your Dac will probably show some marks over your to quiting under a load then dictate how the company should fix your decision.Travelinman, freebirdrfd and cdreid Thank this. -
you must have been buying one of their trucks since you didn't bring home $4,400
-
well the fuel thing is simple they refused to advance me any more fuel and ever time i ran out i was less than 20 miles from the nearest fuel stop, also every time was after my delivery and on the way to fuel for my next load, CRST doesn't just turn on your fuel card, they allow only a percentage of the load pay for fuel advance, if my card was just on I wouldn't have ran out ever.

If you were independent would you expect a customer to pay you before you deliver the load? Especially if you've never dealt with that customer before.

copperfloor and DrtyDiesel Thank this.

I do think it's pretty messed up, I know with our company it is how you described, you just fuel when and wherever and they take the money out of your settlement.

When I leased I had a good bank account with 6,000 in it, all my spare change went to that. Never had a problem!
Something tells this guy thought a lease was easy... as in just make payments and go.
Leasing you pay for.
Fuel.
Maintence.
Insurance.
Plates.
Repair.
Basically EVERYTHING. Boyd did help some, if I threw a rod or my transmission went they would pay half, and replace certain things on the rebuild and PM it for free if it was done by a terminal.DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
