We've got a few farmers that want lime stockpiled for when they get their crops out, and what we've discovered is that most of the lime at the quarries nearby is virtually gone, and most aren't crushing any more because our wonderful state doesn't have any paving projects around this area, so there is no demand for rock. Seen a few combines in corn over around Mexico, MO, and a couple west of us toward Quincy, but I don't know what it's making. Not much, I'm sure.

I still have one for sale, price is negotiable! 41 feet should work nicely! :yes2557::biggrin_25523:

Sorry, I want to trade er for cash!:biggrin_25523: Yep, if he was around Beardstown, that's almost my neck of the woods. Probably saw combines running in the river bottom. Haven't been very busy, just steady with the flat, hoppers have been yard ornaments for a while now.

Got shut off on the beans this week...parking was getting bad where we unloaded. Parking on roads sidestreets, I was worried a car would run into me even with flashers on. They drive crazy in Wichita.

Yeah, that bleeds all the way over into KCMO. Been enjoying that lately.

Dumps have been slow this week. Looks like I only get two days work this week with the rent due. On the upside, there may be a couple big jobs coming in and we've got hopper work nailed down all winter long. And I've gone from part time, to full time, to all the time. Now to take that all the way to partner...

Well picked up a new customer today for hopper work and seems like they are good people to deal with and have good rates. Going to be moving some canola next week and then some wheat if I can find a return load from the Lubback/Amarillo area. So my stepdeck will just have to sit in the yard.

Is anyone using Hoploads.com or bulkloadsnow.com load boards? I was wondering which one was the better one these days. I have used Hoploads in the past but haven't used Bulkloadsnow since they started charging.

Big John; I'm aware that Hoploads charges a monthly fee, but have never used BulkLoadsNow and therefor don't know their cost to subscribe. Can you enlighten me please ! Also, do you really have very much success locating profittable loads from either. Thanks !

Hoploads is still the most comprehensive. We used both for a while, and soon learned bulkloadsnow was just redundant, with a few less loads/shippers.

That's a nice wagon RW. Seems to me like it might be tough to get a good price for it with the upcoming crop as poor as it is. I got away from my routine here recently and was up through Indiana last week - really shocked by what I saw. I saw hundreds of acres of corn field after field where it was no more than 3 feet high. Ears likely only about 6 inches, if that. Never seen anything like it before. Heard they're close to shutting down barge traffic on the Miss River. I know it's been a bad year but wow.. I won't be messing with hopper work this fall. I've got solid work with the dry van and I'm sure the local drivers in central IL won't be needing any help.
