I can tell you this, that backing up a flatbed is not as easy as a van. Trailer doesn't turn as well on a flatbed

 

Thanks, now I know why drivers are always asking me to put steers and front spread axle tires on my company equip. lol

 

I've only seen that diagram followed once but the commentary on the CB seemed to start at about the third or fourth attempt.
