Council Bluffs IA, at the TA. Limped in this morning with an air leak. One of the suspension springs on the air lines failed this morning - all was good when I left Gaylord, and got coffee in Worthington MN. So one broke, and the eye-bolt securing the other wasn't totally closed allowing the second spring to slip out of the bolt. First thing I knew about it was loosing air pressure, and another trucker alerting me on the CB that my trailer air lines were dragging.

Sooo... I have an extra suspension spring, and duct tape. Both lines were abraded, and the trailer supply line had a hole in it. Duct tape to the rescue! Wrapped it good, and kept the leak to a managable level. I was about 30 miles out of Council Bluffs, so I got down the road without a road service visit. That hasn't been the first time an extra spring came in handy... and some bolts to reattach a landing gear handle.

It's not that bad - unless you roll in during the late evening. The PEElot is worse, and you'll need the services of the streakin' beacon after parking at the Sapp Bros. Not much choice there, but I needed the shop so it was the TA. Considering the time of day when I pull in, parking isn't usually an issue - but setting myself up for an easy departure is.

Dodge City at the flippin' J - just passing through though. I'm not here to do penance at the house of the dying cow!
