Ignore this guy, I've experienced people like this on the wheat harvest run, in South Africa you just enslave others to drive your trucks and you only give them straps to secure everything and Punish them for ####### up, plus any responsible, O/O or Company will give their drivers the proper equipment, if you're dedicated to doing regional stone delivery I don't see a practical purpose to carry chains, but if you run a RGN coast to coast not havin chains is really not a option, as for everything can be strapped, I'm sure everything can be strapped but I can promise you when I pass you pulling your 8335r on your deck and you used straps to secure, I will call the DOT and follow you until they pull you over Abd they decide if your securement will suffice, I've done it once to a car hauler that had 3 cars on and 3 total wheel straps nothing else, not carrying chains or using them when they're needed shows complete ignorance and disregard for the safety of other motorists Big and Small
Securing loads with just straps?

Oh come on, you know the best way secure a combine, loaders and fire trucks are with 2" straps placed every 10"

Yes, you rang?
-
At last someone gets it.

anything over 10000 lbs needs at least 4 chains in my understanding....
-
I never will forget ...Passing a guy hauling a farm tractor with just two straps on it ....
-
The minute you pulled out chains with the 40,000 lb stainless 8' wide cylinders I hauled last year, you'd be fired. Chains are needed where chains are needed, nothing to do with the weight of the product, merely the design of the product.

I saw two step decks come through Orlando on I4 with 4" straps on the front tires, over the cab and on the rear tires on at least a 71xx series Deere. Two per trailer. At least the trucks didn't have a blue star on them!

I can promise it didn't say PAPE on the door either.

Same with crane boom sections, coated pipe, etc., that I haul... absolutely no chains, regardless of weight.
