As soon as I put I got good miles, I must have jinxed myself. 860 miles for the week so far and here I sit in Atlanta like a jerkoff while the "planners are planning". Well the driver wants to be driving......

That is one thing I hated when I was with May, about 85% of the time I had to wait till next day after a delivery before try found me a load, sometimes longer. With the company I am with now the longest I have waited after delivery for a load is 15 minutes, and that is because I didn't have a signal when sent my empty call and went a couple miles down the road to truck stop. Normally once my empty call sends my next load info comes in. And only once have I actually had to talk to my dm and that was for my last home time when they didn't have a load to take me 150 miles to my house and he called to tell me to get fuel then d/h home. The rest of the time they send all my routing and directions for receiver and shipper and complete fuel solution to me at once and leave me alone unless I need something, then they are there and easy to get ahold of to help me.

This past load was like the load from Hell for me, was scheduled for thursday night deliver, but broke down on Wednesday. So they did me a favor and rescheduled it for Monday at 11pm HA! Luckily they took me last night, otherwise I would be sitting until then. Can't wait to get back to brooks to clean this truck out. I've gotten good miles for the most part but between this and taking my 3 days hometime and waiting 4 more days for a dispatch, I'm done.

100% (plus) turnover ratio @ May and most of the other large carriers.

    There's a reason why...

Most of the time it has to do with logistics. Leaving a driver sitting for long periods in between loads provides too much time to think about all the negative elements of the industry in general. Thus, he gets discouraged...and quits.

3600 miles tuesday afternoon. Good luck. Id try to stick it out 6 months to a year says you been drivingless than a year. Companies don't like people who jump around what are you gonna do if that happens at next job. Are you gonna jump ship again.have 3 employers in less than one year. Why did you have to wait 4 days after hometime to get a load. Do you think you won't have a breakdown at next place.and it says you've had good miles but one breakdown and now you're quitting

My dude, I got to the shipper at 1500 on wed, was supposed to be a preloaded trailer at 2300. So no big deal I will wait. Unfortunately, they never loaded trailer until 8am Thursday. I get down the road and truck is brokedown. I ended up squeezing in a 34 while I was waiting. The csr person ended up talking #### about the reason my truck went into the shop. So he changed my appointment from Thursday 2300 to Monday 2300. And I was only 600 miles from the place. Luckily I get to deliver it early but now I'm sitting so far another I don't know 30 something hours while the planners plan. Now the issue with coming off of hometime, I've only had 4 hometimes with this place and every time it turns into an extended stay without making money. I don't know about you, but I have 4 kids at home and I'm not doing this job because its exciting and fun, I'm doing it to make money. Maybe this company works for you, but i like to work my ### off and be allowed to work my ### off. If May can't meet me in the middle the oh well. Call it job jumping or whatever, I need a place that works for my needs. If your ok with being screwed with over something unpreventable then your a sucker dude.

The deal with May and many others is it depends on where you live and how there freight runs. With May you need to live on one of there corners, Denver, Salem, LA, Phz, and you will get the loads. When I was there they certainly were not paying drivers 46 cpm at 2 years. Good deal of you can get it. I did not care for them in general. But I did stay loaded and moving.
