Does it work at all? If I buy one, will it work once you guys get everything fixed, or is there a possibility of having to buy a totally different one?

 

I've seen this too. There are times when a specific icon such as a parking area or weigh station will not appear until zoomed-in to the 1.5 or 3-or-so mile displays. Yet when zoomed out to 6-or-so mile displays other rest area and weigh station icons show up just fine.

Separate question on the new maps for the 510s. Can I download the new maps to my hard drive, then upload them to the 510 at a more convenient time?

My power cord stopped working about a week or so ago, started blowing my fuses. Went to GATS and they gave me a new one. They were also doing map updates there and exchanging any broken units for new ones.

 

Can backups from one 710 be used on another 710?

We have 3-710s for use on one truck. One is being used daily and the other 2 are kept in the trucks as spares. We have a lot of notes and special locations on the one currently being used and would like all that info to also be on the spare units. That way if something happens to the current one and we have to use a spare unit we will have all the notes and such still available.

Also we got an email about free lifetime maps being available. Can those updated maps be put on all 3 of our 710s?

What order do we transfer the notes and etc to the spare units (if possible), update the software on all three and update maps on all three?

I appreciate your help with this as I don't want to mess up the info that is on the current one or miss getting the correct things onto the spare units.
