Ok, so I am a Michigan resident with an enhanced CDL A, but I was going over my paperwork for orientation and I came across a part where it says my CDL MUST SAY "CA" where it says type, but mine show "E,OA".
Does anyone know what this mean? I am heading to my DMV in the morning to get this taken care of, but just needed some info on this. Also I don't have ANY endorsements.
Can you help me understand my CDL A?

Just check with the DMV tomorrow and be done with it. They may have to reissue you a license with the corrected Initials. -

CAXPT Thanks this. -
Thanks for the replies everybody, but there is no typo mine says E, OA. I'm just glad I caught it before orientation, but yeah just going to head to the DMV and be done with it and no I don't wear any glasses.

i too got the enhanced license. Its great because I live in a border community in canada and frequent into the US on numerous occasions for gas and groceries. 45$ cheaper then getting a passport.

You live in my old stomping grounds.
I stand corrected. Apparently it does stand for Operator...but that is not a CDL License.
It's not a typo, if you are in a Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) program.
Then you are 17/18, E = Taxi and livery, O = Operator A= reserved for 21 and older Commercial Driver License, but 18 can apply for B/C classes restricted to 26,000 lbs.
Honestly it sounds like a system that is totally new (and totally confusing) to me.
I just found it, and apparently License Type: E,OA has no meaning to me because,....I suspect.....and you need to check this out, that you are qualified for a State (intrastate) License for vehicles shy of a Federal Commercial Driver License class vehicle.
Don't quote me, check with DMV or in our case SOS (Secretary of State) to see if I'm right, or if this is some kind of new State program that I'm totally unfamiliar with regarding some kind of CDL Driver Permit stuff.
Good Luck
