The DPF system doesn't rob any power despite the common theory on here. There is a max exhuast restriction for the DPF. Once it goes above that it will set a fault. All you need is heat to help a dpf. If you run the rockies all the time you really shouldn't be having any problem because of all the heat that you put into them. The newer emmison engines will not run the same as the old ones because they are not designed the same. I don't loke all this emmison stuff but it is what it is and we have to deal with it.

When I first bought this truck, the nightmares started coming at me all at once. I had barely run it one month, and it started dumping this milky looking, almost like mayonnaise, into the oil. Pull out dipstick, white. Take it into cat, they tear down whole engine. Do a complete rebuild. I only had to pay for new cylinder packs, while they had it open anyway. They put a new CAC. They put a BRAN NEW DPF. This motor worked very well for about the first .. 5000 miles? Now I am back to the same crap before. At least this time it throws a CEL and I know how to deal with it. All of that work was under warranty. Only had to pay for cylinder packs (not even the labor for them).
