I live in the far East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area and on my street alone there are six vacant homes. Four of those six were floreclosures. In my subdivison there are a lot vacant homes. Two of my neighbors just refinanced theirs homes and they were valued at about $150,000 less than what they paid 2 years ago. And my family wonders why I'm movin to the south.

I don't know how anyone can afford a home in California. A house here in Indiana might be 80K, in San Fransico you'll probably pay 300K, if not more. I just don't see how people can afford it. -

A recent conversation prompted that response. I ask about a subject that bothered me...the reply was "Blame it all the folks moving here from California!"
We're fine here, without the "protect me please" laws.
