I saw on their web site that maverick specialized offers glass pay and tarp pay. Does anyone know how much they pay for each. Also does maverick specialized haul glass exclusively or do they also haul other materials.

Here is my input on Maverick Specialized. The MS has updated its pay, as of the second week in January the pay will be: .41 for students, .44 for 6 mon. OTR, and .46 for experienced. My husband says that they are sending this info to all their drivers, as they need drivers for Specialized. They said that you would be home every other week. My husband gets home nearly every weekend, for a reset - home a day and a half. Unless his out of route miles are high and he stays out, his own choice. (If they make you do it then they have to guarantee you a run of 800 miles.)

As far as the money out of pocket, anything he has ever had to put out, was reimbursed on the next pay check. He has had to sit around a few times, but he did get the stop over pay. (Not a real big amount, maybe you could get a decent meal for 2 people at KFC)

While the company has great benefits, and I need them due to serious health issues, I am not thrilled with the carrot they are dangling to get people to give up their family life in order to drive Specialized. My husband was tempted and still is, however, is it really worth the extra $200 or so a week - if you get the miles, to give up being with your family? It does not seem to be a reasonable trade. Thats just my thought on it.

Many professions require out-of-pocket expenses. Mechanics spend thousands on their own tools.

There's a reason why Maverick requires you to buy your own tools. If they provided them then they would always be getting "lost". Probably end up in a toolbox at a driver's home.

It wasn't enough of a joke when the 55MPH Schnieder, some wierd orange freak of somebodys imagination came up with this specialized glass haul division with trailers that were like some one stop specialized glass shop.Open/Crated glass has ben hauled since the begining of time and on alot rougher roads. With old worn out steel and reyco spring rides. To further complicate matters further some star eyed suucker(Maverick Transportation) come along and aquires this wore out joke of some 55MPH freaking orange dream. The Mav shop guys must have flipped over this complete joke. And it also is odvious there is recuiting going on right here with Truthbender and No Brainer.Maverick Transportation has never (despite all their efforts witch are many)ben a great trucking company.Sure it works just fine and dandy for many,But they(maverick, truthbender,No Brainer, ect) are not fooling anyone. Not for a single minute.

I do not know what your exp has been with maverick, but I see that you have a lot resentment towards them. I also see where you slander them a lot saying how bad they are. Funny thing is they are the 5th company I have driven for and by far the best. I am not in the spec div, but the US div and they do treat us quite well. We have top notch equipment with all the safety features you could ask for. I make good money and I am home on weekends and I get the fuel bonus every quarter. You keep talking about these 55 mph trucks? Funny mine is set at 70. They have by far went out of their way for me as a driver. They got me home when I was in Dallas and got a call my daughter needed surgery. They deadheaded me home 8 hours and paid me to get home for thanksgiving.

They want you to do things their way and their load securement requirements are above and beyond DOT's standards. The ones that seem to complain about them want to do things their way and not mavericks. They even tell you in orientation that you need to secure to our standards no matter how much flatbed exp you have. They are looking for a certain breed of driver and they expect you to live up to that. The customers deal with the driver and the driver is what reflects the company's image. They have even coined the phrase "the maverick way" their website even reads not all can be maverick drivers. Are they a perfect company? No. I have had a few issues I was not real happy with, but I have been with companies that I had more issues with in a week than in the last 7 months. If I would quit because something did not go my way I would be putting in APS every week in trucking.

My point is this. They have been good to me. I get the job done. I del and pick up on time. I tell them when I can not do something and they know I will do my best to get it done. I think someone can read my post on here about them and figure out I am happy with them. How long will I stay? Until I am ready to move on. I married my wife not a job. Maverick is by far the best that I have ever driven for. You don't see me ranting and raving on here with post that you can't hardly make out. When I read your post about them I find myself asking what the heck is he talking about?:biggrin_2556:
