Well you may be right.
They sure didn't keep us updated much
Maybe the next class will.
I know Sal kept asking so maybe Sal will send a daily 2 minutes worth from his new computer.

Hey Kane I'll be in Seattle at 2:11 and waiting for flight 2396 same as you.

Kane,
You'll have access to a PC at the terminal. Based on what I seen though. Time might be a factor. I wasn't aware they had our new recruits doing night practices until I went through Missoula. -

Well I hope this all works OUT I'm officially unemployed as of today. Guess I'll find out soon enough.

Sal,
The weather in Missoula is going to be in the 30's for a day time high and the 20's for a low. Dress warmly and have fun in training. -
Good luck in class you guys. Everyone in our class graduated and passed to get our CDL's. Our last day of class on Friday was the hardest of all. We knew that we were to get our truck assignments and as the day lagged on with more videos, backing and classroom stuff I was wondering if they forgot that part. Then finally after a long day, it was now like 5:30 pm, we got told our truck numbers.
Most everyone got a truck assigned that was right there in Missoula. I however, got a truck that was in Spokane. Dick told me that I needed to go to dispatch in the morning and see if any driver was heading that way so I could catch a ride. So, while most guys were cleaning their trucks and getting their stuff loaded in, I was wishing I was in Spokane. I showed up in dispatch early the next morning and got lucky. A driver was there getting his next load and he had to go through Spokane. He said, "can you be ready in 20 minutes?" I was like "Hell yeah!"
I had high hopes but was also remembering that these trucks were assigned to someone else before us so they might be dirty inside. Well my fears were realized when I was throwing my bags into my truck in the rain. It was awful inside. The person that had it before me simply did not take care to clean up after themself. I spent the next 5 hours cleaning the grime off everything. But it now looks nice and smells better. I got a load out of Spokane the next morning to Orting, WA. Then I got a few other loads around Seattle then one to my home terminal in Vancouver, WA. I am now home for the holiday and will hit the road hard on Friday. All in all it was a good weekend and I am finally getting paying loads. My truck is nice, a Volvo with 383K miles and I like it. She pulls real nice on the mountain roads. I haven't named her yet but I will soon.
Oh and yes, it was snowing like a mo-fo when I came over from Spokane to Seattle in the mountain pass Sunday morning. No chains were required at that time but I am glad I got through when I did because it got much worse. While I was sitting in the TA truck stop for the night, trucks were pulling in with snow piled on the front grills. Whew! I will come back and update from time to time and I am sure I will be through the Missoula terminal on day soon. I'll stop in and say HI to you guys in this next class.
