Hey guys hows everything. a little about myself i am 24 years old and i just graduated driving school. my instructor at school told me i was top 3 out of 16 drivers in my class, no im not bragging it just goes with the story and my frustration. OK well for the last month ive been driving good downshift shifting parrell 45 degree back what not. today i took my road test and failed i was nervous and they got the best of me it all started on the downshift getting off the highway could not find gears to save my life could not match rpms to downshift just grind grind grind. after my 2 mistakes it just got worse. im so mad at myselfe and now am not confident on retaking the test which sucks to tell you the truth. my instructor told me not to worry about it i had a bad day shifting it happens to all of us. yea right i get hes trying to make me feel better but im just down and cant let it go. basically has this happened to anyone you guys have any tips for my next test. really need the input give it to me straight no beating around the bush thanks

We all have our days... sometimes I can't find a single gear out of 10, have to pull over and start again. Then sometimes I forget it's in gear when I park, annnnd crap a brick in the mornin when you let the clutch out to go put some pants on.
Sam Hell Thanks this. -
Oh he'll yeah. Matter of fact I had trouble with it this morning coming off the expressway. And Ive been driving for a year and a half. I bombed my driving test after my initial six week job training with KLLM. They told me not to worry. They gave me an extra week of focused training (it was my backing that needed work. Still does) and I passed. The nerves can get the best of you some days. The main thing is to stay professional. Don't completely lose your cool and most companies will be patient with you. I know it's tough but try to relax. Good luck!

cool little trick when your in the high side add your speed numbers together and thats the gear. example running 15mph is 1+5=6gear all the way up to 45mph 4+5=9gear. i still catch myself looking a speedo after i change a gear just to see were it is lol. alot of it is just feathering the fuel pedal with light pressure on the shifter and will go were its suppost to.

hey im at prime inc right now and i am having problems wiTH SHIFTING TODAY WAS MY 3RD TIME DRIVEING AND WE ARELEAVING OUT IN THE MORNIG ANY TIPS.

The only thing i can say is that you know how to drive the truck. Don't worry about what will go wrong. That usually makes for self fulfilling prophecies. Concentrate on what you know you need to do and what you know you CAN do. Don't be ####y, but go do what you were trained to do. Drive the truck like you know you can, and like your instructors know you can. YOU CAN DO IT!
Just take a deep breath before you let the clutch out to start your next test and go bang out the course. You CAN do it.Sam Hell Thanks this. -
Just put yourself out of your comfort zone to get your heartbeat up - moderate exercise, talking to strange women, public speaking. Once you get to understand that nobody really cares and it is only happening in that poorely trained for that particular situation brain and heart you can begin improving.

To the OP. The way I'd look at it is you got all of your mistakes out of your system and also, you know you will never drive that bad again!
