nearest IRS office from the house for me is 34 miles away. And I am sure gas will cost me more than $9.95 to get there and back.
Where's the cheapest 2290 E-File?

Last year I went to the Atlanta IRS office 20 mi away because I was needing the stamp to register a new truck. Actually it was because my wife was busy and couldn't do it for me LOL. It was sorta on my way so not a big deal. Besides my steel toes setting off the metal detector, the people watching was ok and I was out in under an hour.
This year I e-filed since I'm not in a hurry for the stamp. Did it last night to avoid the last minute rush LOL. -
if you havn't done e-file befoe last nite it's to late to do it.... irs e-file system is down all day so if you don't do a WALK IN you can't get it
-
the email copy you got HAS THE STAMP "water mark non copyable" and you did wait until the last minute the IRS stopped taking e-file about midnite and will not be taking it at all today.....

Sorry I forgot to put a smiley on there to indicate irony.

I always have it back in plenty of time for the permit department to renew my plate. I don't get in a rush, just to get more entries for the free truck, as I've already won one and sold that sucker after six months. The Glass Palace is hoping I never win another one, because they know it'll probably never get out of J'ville before it's sold.

I went with them this year. it worked out great. not having to drive 25 miles to get it done, or wait 3 hours. got a confirmation & a stamped paid form to print out. though I also ordered the original irs stamped to arrive in the mail to for an extra 5 bucks. saved me time & gas money.
