Well today was quite the day. Woke up around 5:20 and got dressed, had a smoke and drank a bit of coffee then left for breakfast.
After my meal of prepackaged delishinous I went to orientation, where I was introduced to security Butch McFlattop and Billy ###### (as I've affectionaitly named them) They scared fellow PSD students straight! After that I was processed and went to take my physical and pee test. I streamed the finest of the fine and duck walked like a pro, My blood pressure was nice as well! After the medical aspect I was instructed to go to the Office and get interviewed I arrived there around 11:30 and sat and sat when it was finally my turn everyone was instructed to go to lunch, there goes my spot. Return from lunch around 1:20 and wait until I was seen finally at 2:45. My interview asked me why I left out a DUI on my record. I told her the accident was over 6 years ago and I was never formally charged with a DUI (I never received a letter, was citied, was tried, or anything. My insurance company even told me I did not have a DUI on my record) They also wanted to know why I had forgotten to put a driving on a suspended license without knowledge on my application. My excuse was simple "I thought that was longer than 5 years ago" well it wasn't, It was actually 4 years 11 months ago....sigh. I was told to wait in the office at 4:00 pm with one other student while the other students went for roll call. The one guy got sent home and I was told to wait a little longer. So I waited until 6 when the gentleman came and told me to come back tomorrow and he would square everything away....Sooo I'm nervous as #@*%! I really need this job, My family really needs me to have this job. Fingers crossed...pray for me

Wish I could offer you some words of wisdom, but what you need is a lucky break. Hopefully, not getting the boot today is indicative of good things tomorrow. I wish you luck. We all have a few skeletons in our closet.

So, after a 36 hour bus ride (which I paid for out of pocket) I am finally home. Not for the DUI, nor the driving on a suspended license w/o knowledge. No, they sent me home because last year I was fired from Walgreen's for opening a drink and drinking from it prior to paying for it. They told me It was theft and I was a "liability". I'm so disappointed, I truly wanted to work for Prime, I studied hard and got my permit, and sold much of my belongings so I would have money to use out on the road..(I had to use it to pay for a bus ticket home) Funny though, how I'm a liability, yet the one lease drivers I spoke with said they let him on with a trafficking charge, and another one who had spousal abuse and an illegal firearms charge...sigh Oh, well onto something else. Keep safe out there drivers and just a heads up when filing out your hire packet LIST EVERYTHING Prime knows the last time you pee'd your pants.
-
What's in the packet that you had to fill out when you got there?
-
try another company seems petty to me but that is prime from what i read on here
-
Well, Don't give up man especially since you have people counting on you. There are more companies out there just start applying and don't leave anything out without asking the recruiter first.
-
Basic pre-hire packets, basically everything you fill out online, except for the criminal history part.
Drew352 Thanks this. -
For training companies try Schneider, Stevens and Swift. From what I've heard CRST, Werner and England are bad bets. The deal is to get your foot in the door somewhere, get your training and some experience. After that first crucial year (and getting any tution paid back) you can move to a better situation.
Going forward, you absolutely have to reveal EVERYTHING. While the deal in the convenience store isn't necessarily a deal breaker, any hint of untruthfulness is. Whether it is intentional, or just that you forgot about something. Good luck. -
Same thing you filled out online. Except this time they have it in your handwriting. Can't deny who may or may not left something off the online app.
100 percent honest. Put down everything. You'd be amazed at some of the stuff they find that you think they won't. This is nothing that hadn't been said in these Prime forums a hundred times. -
Gee if they do a background check on me online my name will come up on over 2000 criminal cases I'm on the case because i had bailed them out of jail lol
Good luck Kapgun keep us up on were you head too and hope to see you on the road soon.
