Went thru orientation in Dallas last month. Two days of class, then at four pm on the second day my trainer showed up. Been driving since and have about fifteen hours to go until my 275. According to my trainer when I hit the hours I will be dropped at a terminal. I will have to go thru some of the computer terminal training for a couple days and then the road test.

According to the others I have talked to the road test is similar to the DMV test. I have driven in NYC, Chicago, LA, Dallas, Houston, and several other large cities during rush hour in the course of the training. I would imagine if I can do that safely the road test should be a piece of cake.

not true, i had 310 hours when i got off a truck, imagine how upset i was. you must be routed into a terminal. they cant just drop you off. sorry but its true. and the road test is a road test, you drive. kinda like what we do for a living. no sweat

Well, my first two days of orientation was just paperwork for benefits, etc things like that. A dot physical and drug test which was the first day, computer based training etc. My trainer picked me up right after my two days of orientation and ive been driving every day. I drovee a lot in FL and AL. I am being trained on a dedicated account since I'm on the DG account after training. Im in a hotel right now cause my trainer gets hometime this weekend. Will update this thread when I have more training. Please leave me questions when you all have them. I would say that Werner has been good to me thus far. Its what U make of it.

Yes, If your trainer is on a weekly account and he's home on the weekend, you'll be set up in a hotel room near where he lives during training,

I just completed my training testerday. Road test was hookup 53ft box trailer. Drive a little city driving mixed with interstate. When i got back you do a 45 back inbetween 2 trailers. Very low key and laid back. Just get out and look and dont hit anything and your golden. Unhook and your done. I drove a ProStar but they have Volvo n Kenworths and Freightliners too. I am based in Omaha. My training experience with Werner i thought was very good, I have very few complaints.
