Hey, guys its me again. Last time I posted, I was in training, now I have been on the road in my own truck for 4 weeks. Maverick is like other company's in the aspect that they lie their ##### off to you in orientation. They preach safety, safety, safety, and I have now realized the reason seems like it is for insurance companies. Because once you get out of training and into your own truck, You'd better watch how you log and how many hours you have on your seventy, they dont keep track of it for you, and i pushed 90 hours on my 7 last week, and didnt even get a phone call. --------enough of the ugly stuff
The stuff above is true, but it also helps out a little too. If you think you can make decent money in this industry without a little "creative logging" Then you are better off driving for werner. I may have sounded negative about Maverick, but in fact I do enjoy working here. The people are great, and if you are a new guy just starting out and are having a tough time securing down that one load, 9 out of 10 fellow Mavericks nearby will take time from their own load to help you out. If you want to work for a company whose drivers are top notch and would give you the shirt off their backs. Then Maverick is the one. Ok, now to the best of the best..... the pay. When I came into maverick as an entry level driver, I thought I would maybe gross about 40k a year. So far with my first 3 checks, my lowest take home pay has been $800!!!!!!! I did the math and if this continues, I will make more than their 52,500 they say entry level drivers make a year!!!!! Keep in mind though... my creative logging has helped me do this. If I had run 100% by the book, my numbers would be no where near that. -
How many companies will dead head their driver home empty for 8 hours so he can be home for thanksgiving? Mav did. Tell me they don't put their drivers first.
