Yep, and sadly that will get you time in a lot of states. I considered carrying my .45 but after looking through the NRA handbook for travelers at the number of states with restrictions on carry I decided it wasn't worth the risk of felony concealed carry.

    CAXPT and Les2 Thank this.

I carry a .45 .... It's a choice, I leave for work early and sometimes I come in late...my city is not the safest...when I am in the truck I place the clip in the glovebox lock it and place the weapon in a shoebox in the sleeper locked open. I have yet to have a problem, NY and CA are the only real problem states but most of the others recoginze my ccw and my efforts show that I am making an atempt to be in compliance. When they run your license it shows if you have a ccw so you better be honest because they will search. I only had to turn my weapon in once before picking up at Atterbury, IN military base and the city police were very nice and asked no questions. Most LEO when they see it are more concerned with the custom grips than they get to talking and leave me alone.

I stand 6'3 weigh 245 shaved head and tatooed sleeves, and scowl 90% of the time so I have the mean mofo thing covered also

    I know mine did!

I'm 5'10" 165lbs no tats short hair and have never carried a gun. Never felt I needed it.... Now don't get me wrong, I have no issue with someone who feels they need it or just want to carry it, cause to be honest, they are the last people in the world I'm concerned with.

Is it still illegal when when your truck is being broken into with you in it?
First time I ever fired it, likely not to be the last. Didn't hit anyone, but they dropped that little BB gun and ran like a chicken with no head.

If you are not legally carrying the firearm in that state and you shoot and injure or kill an assailant not only are you going to be in trouble for the gun violation, if the assailant lives they can sue you in civil court for medical costs and monetary damages, if they die the family can. Insane but it's how our legal system works.

no its not illegal, but you have to be careful. but also remember so old guys may have screwed up shoulders and cant bring that roll overhead to get it over higher loads.

i put one end of strap in the winch, take the remainder and fold it in3 foot sections in my left hand, hold the hook end in my right hand, and with onequick motion and bringing the rh hand up not much past my right shoulder , zip goes the hook up and over. i always yell out beforehand .

just a necessity for my old worn out rotator cuff challenged right shoulder. funny thing is over the years i have seen more folks get hit by the roll by far than the hook end, seems no ones yells out when they throw a roll, lol
