That's $3 mile to the truck, after LS takes their cut. The loads are usually posted for $4.15-$4.45 mile

I only quote to the truck rates, not the rate before the 27% cut

Landstar takes 27% off each load??? How does that work??
I'm asking as I never booked a load with them before...

SHC I bet you can't produce one document that will show a load coming out of Long Beach CA going anywhere for over $4.00 a mile. And you can take your pick from Florida to Maine. If you do I will give you $100.00 but when yo don't you to have got to pay.I don't say this because I don't know any better only because I was leased to Landstar for 12 years up until last year.Still know more than one leased there and I guaranty the rates have not went up like that in this economy.

And the cut is 26.5. That.'s what drives them down to the market rate

I think you're right. I think people get set up to haul those engines and don't do much else.

The loads I see don't come out of Long Beach, they are coming out of Wilmington and San Bernadino and going to Newark. I obviously am not going to post up load info or screen shots because i like my lease and don't need it terminated. I'm glad you worked for LS for 12 years, and since you know somebody still leased here, why not ask him to take a look for you. They pop-up every week, but I can't haul them because I am not a team. i have no clue what the product is, all i know is it says "40' standard container- MUST BE TEAM"
