Werner compared to C.R. England

The OP states that working for Werner will result in a direct loss of income, yes I can provide documents to contradict that statement. As for the rest you are right I can no more provide documents that prove or disprove that Werner trains dispatch to coerce drivers to do illegal things, wants you to get tickets and will not repair a truck than the OP can.

Never said any such thing. I have no doubt that the OP and many others have had a bad experience. I have known quite a few people that did while I was employed there myself. I myself would not really suggest to anybody to go to work there, but that proves nothing either.

I started Working for Werner in August of 2007 and left in March of 2012. In that time frame I got to know many drivers for them as well as some planners, dispatchers, dedicated managers, safety reps, and met a few people from the corporate office. I asked many questions and asked for opinions from these people of their jobs with Werner and the Industry in general. I still ask today where I work now. It is my inquisitive nature to learn and know more and to try to understand the way things work. I still keep in contact with people that currently work there as well.

So to answer your question I would say yes I have done a little research and probably more than the OP, but that still just remains to be my opinion.

OK, where I am now employed I make a salary of about 45k/year. (less than I ever made at Werner if you care) I work 5 days a week Monday - Friday. I do not work any major holidays and do get paid for them. I also get the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and my birthday as paid holidays. I am out for 2 or 3 nights a week but I stay in a hotel not a truck. If I tell them of anything my truck needs they fix it, they are even considering a new seat because I do not like the one that is in it. If something happens while I am out I have a card for repairs or what ever items the truck may need. They do not want me do anything unsafe or illegal as their bonuses as well as mine rely on not doing so and we all want our bonuses. I have never put in more than 55 hours in a week however also never less than 46 so for now, yes salary tops my list.

I am not asking anybody to ignore anything. Are you asking me to read the original post and to just believe it? In my humble opinion I think I know better so I choose to not believe most of what the op states. While there are some valid points raised, I feel there is also a whole lot of crap. Once again just my opinion, you are welcome to take it or leave it, the choice is yours and yours alone.

Interesting, are you saying that you know I am evil, or that the OP is good? I would contend that either way it is just your opinion and yes you are entitled to it.



Now to the Original post

Can you have read that and believe it all to be true? I can tell you I have read it, more than once. I can also tell you that yes it is a tough pill to swallow mainly because I do not believe a lot of it. Not saying some things may not have happened, but to believe this all as true, not a chance I will.

 

I can read quite well thank you, you are welcome to your opinion and I am really not here to debate the investment opportunities of Werner or any other company.

I am truly sorry that your experience as a "USA Long Haul Truck Driver" was not what you expected it to be. I sincerely wish you luck in your quest to eliminate all the evil trucking companies and to make the world of driving A-OK for everybody. I worked for CR England and I now work for Werner. My experience above with bothe of these companies does not agree. I will say that CR England will harras you and push you on your hours. Werner has not once pushed me to drive when I did not want to. I have had different divisions with Werner and different dispatchers and I have never been asked to do anything that was unsafe with Werner. I will say that both companies have the lowest pay in the industry, I do not want to train and bothe of them ask you to train to make more money. These companies just need to stop being so greedy and just pay people a living wage not a slave wage. I have been with Werner and driven over 100,000 miles and my paycheck stub says 15K and CR England runs the biggest scam trying to get you to lease there trucks. What a sad state of business practices these companies are up to, get your years experience and get out.
