Hey Rob, Sounds like you're having a good summer. We moved my oldest daughter to UNF in JAX, Fl. She has an apartment for her senior year. Man those snot loads are fun huh? Not too many wash racks clean that stuff. I got loaded in Savannah Ga and unloaded in Laporte last Monday, loaded in Freeport and dropped it off in Collierville Wens, Returned to Houston and grabbed a preloaded trailer for LA Thursday and am here at the J in 1000 Palms on a 34. In N Out burgers are awesome. Heading. backMonday to TX, then going to start running dedicated out of S Ga to FL. If you get out to Houston let me know. We are also looking for a driver from Florida to run back and forth from S. Ga to Houston if you know of anyone. Nice to see Carlos posting here. His CAD posts were a good read. Take care and have a great week.

Kurbski, good to see things going well for you. Are you still with Rogers? I considered giving them a shot but decided against it once Heniff gave me the green light.

Left Rogers 14 months ago and with MILS. Miller Intermodal Logistics out of the Lakeland terminal.
Hennif runs nice equipment. You should do well with them.

Sounds like you are running well. I will be heading to Houston Saturday. Should get there Monday. Load doesn't deliver until Wednesday but I plan to see if it can be rescheduled.

Good week. Headed out Sunday after church and pretty much ran 600 miles a day. Had a little hiccup Sunday with a trailer tire blow out. Road service had me on my way in about 1.75 hours so the only result was a little more hourly pay. I got to Barstow yesterday and took a little longer break so I could head out around day break. Got unloaded today in almost exactly 2 hours by 12 noon Pacific time. Dispatch was a little slow so I picked up half an hour while I waited for dispatch.

They finally decided to send me to LA Tankwash and have me drop a trailer at Ashland(Thursday) loading for Texas. It took them 5.5 hours to wash the tank. It was the busiest I have seen it.

Load was supposed to be ready Sunday at 13:00 but the loader told me it would be ready Saturday morning. Works for me. Saves the company 8 hours of layover pay and 1 night in the hotel. I will still pick up 16 hours layover pay, get a reset in, and run 600 miles Saturday and Sunday. Very good week. Hopefully the customer will take the load early and I can get something out by Wednesday.

I don't know if its the best place but I have stopped a few times at the Mars Cheese Castle exit 340 off I-94. Good sandwich deli, bakery and great selection of cheese.

Picked up my load in LA around 11:00 AM Saturday right when my second 8 hours of layover pay ended. I ran on 10 hour breaks and stopped in Katy Tx 45 miles from the plant at 5PM Monday. My original plan was to run to the terminal in Pasadena. Holiday traffic was so bad Labor Day Monday that I stopped short after running 90 miles stop and go at 45mph max. Put down 1.5 hours traffic delay for that.

Got a wake up message this morning from Log Ops saying they still hadn't heard back from the plant about early delivery. At this point I am thinking it will be better financially for me to sit and deliver the load as scheduled tomorrow. I am guessing that most of the Houston drivers were home for the holiday and will suck up all the good loads getting out today or tomorrow so I will sit regardless. I will pick up another 12 hours of layover pay sitting at this Loves where I have unlimited drinks, showers and about 35 TV channels speaking english. I would rather be running but this pays the bills. Time for a nap :biggrin_25518::biggrin_25518:

Never heard back from dispatch on delivering early so I banked the layover pay and rolled up to the plant right on time Wednesday morning. It took them 6 hours to unload me so I picked up 4 more there. Had to hang out in a break room while they drummed off my load into 55 gallon drums.

When I got back to my truck I was shocked not to be heading 10 miles over to the Pasadena terminal. I had been saving up my laundry since they have a free washer/dryer for drivers there. I was tankwashed over to Sulphur La instead. They had a local driver loading one for me that night heading to Mapleton Il delivering Saturday.

This is a heat sensitive load. It has to deliver between 115-125F but cannot go over 130. I am sitting at the tank wash in East Saint Louis Il getting it steamed. This is one of the nicer tank washes. They gave me lunch, have clean showers, a couple of TVs and a movie room. Free popcorn, Iced Tea, lemonade and Coffee. I originally planned to get a few miles north once steamed up but this place is so nice I decided to stay. Its storming and I am only 180 miles from the plant with a noon appointment.

After this I am shagging a few trailers on my way to Westfield In where I will have a load out of AOC Sunday evening heading to Bristol Va for Tuesday and probably the house.
