I have all my online training done with SWIFT. Here I come Millington Sept.15,2012...I hope I have made a good decision. I tried getting loans but everything failed for cdl school. I hope I can make a gross of 600.00 a week after otr with a trainer to make my bills better. Wish me luck guys. Any advice will be helpful beings I have a few days before I leave for training.

TMC if you want flatbed. Flatbed is way more work than van. When I grow up I plan on going to TMC but I'm a flatbed kinda guy tho.

I plan on going to Swift myself (yeah I know). I chose Swift because I need training and they have a FB division unlike some of the other training companies. If I have a good experience with Swift then I will stay there. If not then I will go to TMC after my contract is up. I'm a pretty laid back guy with low expectations about anything and I'm willing to pay my dues. I can't honestly expect the royal treatment when I am just starting out and when a company is investing time and money into my training. My plan is simple: Keep my nose and CDL clean, be safe, do a good job, be respectful and thankful, and to always enjoy my time on the road. If you can't enjoy it, then why do it? You just have to make the most out of whatever is handed to you. Stuck on a layover? Use the time to catch up with family and friends. Stuck and can't get freight? Surf the net, watch movies, etc. 34 hour reset? catch up on sleep and clean your truck. I am a simple guy and it doesn't take much to entertain me. I will always do a good job in the safest way possible regardless of the company I work for. If you don't do a good job then why even bother doing it at all. If I do a bad job or I'm late or I'm rude then I can't really fault a company for not giving me loads. It is all up to me for the most part and I will get out of this job what I put in.

sorry bout that...went on a bit of a rant there....what was the question lol?

    oh yeah....

good luck on whatever you chose and be safe!!!

CR England treats you like they own you, go to their school and you have to work for them for 9 months before you can cut loose & break even. You sign a contract in the second day of class before you even realize what you are getting yourself into. Sign or leave now are your options. Their lease program benefits them not you... Be for- warned, they are implementing new training trucks with automatic transmissions, which means you are only qualified to drive automatic transmissions after you complete their training program, ( designed to keep so many drivers from quitting, as they can't find work anywhere else, because they are only qualified to drive automatics).
    they own you...
