I was curious if any of you know of any flatbed companies that have drivers home every week. I live in California and have aprrox 5 years of semi regional RGN and OD experience. All the companies I've looked into only get you home every 2 weeks. Any info would be appreciated.

Combined Transport or Sherman Bros. might work for you. Mike Lawrie is also running a bunch of step decks now. You also might try Sierra Pacifc or California Cascade Corp.
IMHO the best jobs are with small companies that are totally under the radar here, you just gotta look and ask. My last 3 driving jobs and the co. I am leased to have never had their names mentioned on here & I hope they never do.
If you are willing to pull a curtain van you might try Thomas & Sons or A&M, both out of OR. I think I may have seen an ad from Stidham looking for drivers, but I'm not sure you would be home every week with them. Craigslist is a great resource & you live in a great area for flatbed work.kbrackett Thanks this. -
i would look into thomas and sons or sherman bros. mike lowrie would be a good one also but not sure what it takes to get on with them

Thanks I've already checked into system, central Oregon and shermam. They all have told me to expect to be home every other weekend. I just had another baby and would like to.be home on a more regular basis.

Avoid west coast heavy haul. Aka namon Martin. Absolute crook

Just a FYI there is another Thomas & sons out of Sapulpa Oklahoma they're a very shady company guy will screw you over on your last check as well. Shane Thomas is the owner and a crook. Says he's been in business for 15 years which I believe. But believe as well he's running of his daddy's name. Guy will threaten you on his own property know that his wife's sister is a deputy so he'll have your butt if you try something. He expects you to do a job with half the equipment. He expects gas money to come from your money. But tells you your 30% of the load. Not telling you that's after expenses. STEER CLEAR BOTTOM LINE. Unless your record in driving or life he'll hire you. Good luck getting home safely.

Knight Transport (not the big Knight, we're flatbed only) out of Auburn, WA has an I-5 run between Seattle and LA that will get you home for your recharge every week. Might need to do some talking though since they only hire out of Washington. I'm the sole exception since I was with them before I moved to Colorado Springs and they wanted to keep me on.
kbrackett Thanks this.
