I completed their course in January of this year. I paid cash, so didn't have to deal with their financing and saved about $1500 plus interest.
No complaints with the program. They kept their promise and taught me enough to get my CDL. If you show up, pay attention, and make an effort, you will have no problems. The head instructor, Rex, is a little intense but a good instructor. Frito will make you laugh and the rest are good folks to.
Take everything the recruiters tell you with a grain of salt. Mr. Anderson left a bad taste in my mouth, but Rodney seemed alright.
Let me know if you need anything else.Dmyoung42 Thanks this. -
I agree I finished their school last year late September early October. Rex was cool and I had Frito as my driving instructor. First week a lot of class time and other two weeks hands on. Should be no problem if you apply yourself and take it all in. I financed through the school and if you pay it off early you can save a lot off the finance charges. They give u a pack of apps to fill out in order for pre hires and tell u to fill all them out. I didn't and waited til I got out if school to find my company I'm at now. I did research on here and found a fit for my needs and wasn't offered through the school. Other than that it was a good school. Jerry was intense too liked to raise his voice and curse. Tell you how it really is type guy. He was cool and helped a lot and if you were cool under pressure you don't need to worry about him.

They will give you a stack of applications the first day. You should complete all of them. I didn't do this because I was headed for the Texas oil fields. Everyone else in my class was headed OTR. Most of them had one or more pre-hires before class was over.

Mr Anderson (Ken) should be working in the used car market. Please do not let this individual fill your head full of b.s. Do your research and think long and hard before you sign on the bottom line. " A fool and his money are soon parted"

im no fool , believe me , just trying to get some insight from those of you have been there , done that , the more i look at this the more negative press i see, its something ive always wanted too do , but never had the chance , now i do. so i want too go about it the right way . my dad was a driver for 40 years , my uncle was also a driver for mayflower , i use to ride with him alot back in the day, but now i see alot of new regulations out there and wondering if its worth my time to take this on at the adge of *almost* 52

Alll of these recruiters are salesman, making money off whoever they can. Do your research and you'll do fine. I'm also 51 looking to change careers. And also looking long and hard at this school. Good luck with whatever you decide to do and no disrespect intended.

I went there back in 96' and my wife went in 2000. Pretty standard there. Nothing glorious. They teach you what you need to know. They do offer job placement and pre-hires and such and you will also have recruiters come to your class to do a little brainwashing. I would recommend you stay away from any of those. Take the time and do your research and land yourself a good job from the start. Keep in mind too that TDI gets paid by these companies to send you to them.
