Could anyone tell me how to properly measure the air ride height on a 03 w-900 with ag-400 air ride. Like where to measure and what measurement, have heard a lot of different ways and measurements and was wondering which way is right.

have you tried a search on the forum. There was a discussion about this not long ago. Members Bender, and Pablo would possibly be able to point you in the right direction.

For the sleeper, I use a level but for the rig, I eyeball it.
There is a thread on here with some comments and I believe measurements too...if you want to get that specific...kranky1 Thanks this. -
If you call KW they will tell you what the height is and where to measure it...

i usually air bags to where the suspension raises the frame just right where the top of the tire meets the top of the frame. unless you have a different rim size listed from factory or youre a car hauler.

Usually 8.5" from the center line of the axle to the bottom of the frame rail

Get the spec's from your local service dept. They can print them off for you. Mine (AG380) says on level ground in unladen condition 8.5" (this from memory and the previous poster) from the bottom of the frame rail to the center of the rear axle housing (read that the center of the axles themselves). The center of the axle housing is NOT the weld along the middle of the two half sections of the axle housing tubes slapped one on top of the other - remember the axle housing is angled upwards - if you measure to that weld as the "center" you will be off... It is the center of the housing but not the axles themselves.... Takes about 5 minutes to call up and find out the correct spec that 8.5" number above is dead on centered between the low and high end of what is allowable - there is about a 1/2" to play with.

9 3/4"- 9 7/8" from bottom of frame to center of axle housing.

There's really no mark or indentation on mine. I measure from the bottom of the frame rail to the center of the weld on the back of the housing. Then measure down to the center of the weld on the front side of it. Split the difference between the two. So if the difference is 1" then on the backside of the housing you should measure to 1/2" above the center of the weld. That puts you in the exact center of the axle. Hope it makes sense. Would be easier to show you than try to explain on a forum.
DSK333, Dirty-Low-Walker and cumminsISB Thank this.
