I had a distributor bring one to to colleague's shop to see if he wanted to carry them. I'm still not a Cobra dealer (they're still not approving new dealerships after a year and a half since I applied) but the distributor's tech rep is familiar with my credentials, so he let the "actual" dealer and me open it up and run through typical alignment procedures and he installed a couple of shorted components to see how quickly we could find them. BTW, mostly SMD parts, like on the newer Cobra 29 LX and the Alpha 10 Mini and Max, so modding and/or troubleshooting are not for the faint of heart, or those not experienced with surface mounted components. Otherwise, the main board is laid out pretty logically, and the same rules of thumb apply, i.e., if a voltage is high, something is open, and if a voltage is low, something is shorted.
But having as many SMD components as this radio has should cut down on the number of parts that just plain rattle loose from road vibration, because they're smaller and they're not swinging from wire leads. All in all, I'll probably get one of these to replace the aging 25 NWSTWX that's been in my service van forever.
