Friend I am learning as I am reading your thread.What do you mean when you say 'outward appearance suggests otherwise.' And do not worry about this change in plans;-in fact embrace it and get used to it for if you become a Trucker it will become a way of life for you..If you wanna hear God laugh....Tell Him your plans.

 

I'll bet there's more to the story too. But it's a story that requires Werner to reveal the thoughts that went into the formation of their opinion and how that relates to their decision to send Remousamavi home instead of puttin' him in the driver's seat in a Big truck.
My hunch is fear on Werner's part.

How many half-wits at Werner do y'all reckon have even a slight clue as to what Asperger's Syndrome actually is?
Of those who don't know, how many do y'all reckon endeavored to learn for themselves what an Austrian pediatrician (Hans Asperger) had been closely observing in some of his patients and wrote about in 1944, calling what he observed "autistic psychopathy"? His paper was translated to English in 1991, and became a standard diagnosis in 1992.

Let's assume none is correct.

Although the condition has existed for many years, what it's called by name has not. It's relatively new in that regard. I'm thinkin' that the head of the head heads at Werner had no clue what Asperger's is or what the symptoms include or how those traits might affect the operation of a Big truck. So, ..... rather than become educated on the subject, they chose instead to remain ignorant and play it safe, fearing embarrassment for the company, --- something Werner brings on itself with their unethical business practices.
To appear less ignorant, the head of the head heads will probably explain it's not them who are rejecting the applicant, but rather their insurance carrier that refuses to insure anyone with a condition foreign to their limited understanding and unlimited confusion, --- and compounded by their keen business sense that accounts for every bean and every penny earned, --- striving to retain as many dead presidents, (read profits), as possible, any way possible

Anyway, that's my guess, I guess.
