My plan is to stay out at least four weeks at a time to start. From what I have read my miles will be better on average the lomger Im willing to stay out. My question is how many times could I get by the house for a 10 or a 34 in that four weeks? I live in Victorville and am about 40 miles from the Rancho yard. I know it will be different each week so Im just looking for a guestimate. I do see alot of GTI trucks running on I-15 and H-395 which are right out my front door.

The freight business is simply too unpredictible to be able to predict what the answer to that question is. If home time is a concern at all, you're in the wrong profession. It shouldn't even enter your mind.

Really driver. So asking a current or former Gordon driver that might be familiar with the lanes in my area for a guestimate on how often I might be able to get by the house is unanswerable? Got it.

Actually home time would be when I request time off the truck, there is a difference between getting by for a 10 or a 34 and taking time off at home. My concearn is making money not when I get home time. And as far as the freight business being unpredictable and me possibly being in the wrong profession after 21 years once again I say, really driver.

Well it also depends on what fleet your on but it shouldnt be a problem for the most part. I was always running the I-15 and had no problem taking my 10 at home in L.V......I can't believe that a wannabe trucker would even pipe in on something like this too....lol...are you kidding me...

Thanks for the help guys I appreciate it.

My truck will be kept in Rancho Cucamonga which is 38 miles from home. If I am in the area I can go home for 10's and 34's which will be a big help me since I dont really plan on taking a whole lot of scheduled home time off.
