Hi,
I'm not yet covinced to pack up and relocate to Texas for Mission Petroleum. I need to know that I can make the same money Joshua 1514 is making. Are you still up to telling the good bad and ugly?

High turnover rate usually means something is wrong. -
Missions NORMAL mainstay is chemicals and motor fuels. There is NOWHERE near enough money to warrant a cross country tranfer to one of these divisions.
Good luckpathfinder1361 Thanks this. -

Thanks everyone! Talked to a Mission terminal manager and recruiter, got conflicting information. Looking for best opportunity for tanker driver in the shale!

Does Mission take on Owner Operators?
Looking to haul Crude or even gas.
I am currently in Corpus Christi but can relocate anywhere the money is good. even North Dakota. -
Mission did have O/O at some point, but they have shut the door on that enterprise as far as I'm aware.I worked for Mission at their Austin
terminal for 3+ yrs and they had a couple of O/O grandfathered in. But realistically, Mission have not hired anymore in awhile. I think they want to disband them asap. O/O are getting the same benefits as the company drivers, so it's a sweet deal for them. Mission is company driver through and through and pay by the load, not percentage. It's going to depend where you are as to whether it will be a good decision to work for them. If you get a jerk of a TM as is evident at many of their terminals, I would look elsewhere. The one thing that
Mission had when I was there was excellent benefits, medical, Roth 401K plans etc. Mission also hauls crude oil, but I think that for a steady income, I would honestly steer clear of crude. Gasoline is the way to go for consistent income IMHO. Good luckRockinChair Thanks this. -
Josh, I just applied with Mission and have been talking to Kim. They are hiring like crazy in the north Texas/Panhandle area. Are you still with the company and is it still treating you well? I'm a seasoned driver with 19 years experience just no experience hauling liquids. I have some oilfield experience hauling frac sand in North Dakota and South Texas. Also, a couple years pipeline testing experience. I just want to make money and not be gone for months on end. Any feedback would be welcome from you or others. Thanks!

I am still with them. It is not the same as it was but is still a good company to work for. I don't know how the pay is in the panhandle but not I am sure it is better than otr. They just hired around 30 drivers here in my area, more then doubling the size of my yard. I have no problems with the company as a whole, good benefits. Just little issues with the local terminal but I realise I will never find a "perfect" company..

Thanks Josh, there is no such thing as the perfect company I have come to realize after nearly 20 years behind the wheel. There is always something to gripe about no matter where we are. Ya know, ya give a driver a pound of gold and we will cry 'cause we have to carry a brick....
It's not the same out here as it used to be but there is still some good money to be had if you wanna look for it. I am most interested in being with a company that trains well because without proper training, we will most often preform poorly. Hopefully Mission will live up to that!
