Sorry to hear about all the troubles at Schneider, Ghostwriter. Just remember, as long as the price of oil is high it's a driver's market in Texas. I'd kick Schneider to the curb and get a job in a vac truck.

    Pray for high oil prices!

I listened in on the conference call. I know about being cut down to only 50 loads a day. I've been told that we're not laying off any more drivers than we'd already been told were being laid off, but any additional drivers that quit aren't going to be replaced by new ones. I know they're taking some of our better equipment off the account to move elsewhere since we're not gonna have much use for it.

I don't know about the management being the ones that ###### up the account. We've had Enterprise / SunCoast fighting us for this account for a while, and Blackhawk hasn't been shy about showing which company they preferred. Schneider's been delivering their loads and doing pretty much everything they've been told. But Blackhawk was bought up by another company, and it sounds like they figured they could squeeze the truckers for a better rate, and we got the short end of that stick.

I wish I could figure out which of the rumors are true and which ones are guys just pissed off about the situation. As for me, I'm not insanely worried. We lost the account, and #### happens in this industry. I'm gonna stay on for a while and see if our client manages to scramble up some more work, but if things don't shape up, then there's plenty of other people hiring around here. (I've heard Baker-Hughes and Quality Carriers, just off the top of my head.)

This is sad to see, regardless of what company it is!

No one wants to see another company fail, for whatever the reasons. Good people end up hurt in the process.

My company (Nabors), is hiring all over STX.

    Currently need:

Kenedy, TX- 2 Condensate Haulers, 6 Vac Drivers, dispatcher, mechanic
Three Rivers, TX - 12 Condensate Haulers, 2 Vac Drivers, Mechanic, Dispatcher, Clerk, HR Clerk
Victoria, TX - 1 Vac Driver
Asherton, TX - 5 Vac Truck Drivers

We have the opportunities, just need the people to fill them!

    Some basic requirements in STX:

Drivers: MUST have 1.5 yrs CDL A driving experience in a Manual transmission CMV. (OTR, Flatbed etc all applicable. We will teach you to haul water if you're a safe and qualified driver!) Must have, or obtain a tank endorsement. (HAZMAT also for condensate). Condensate drivers must have 1 yr+ hauling HAZMAT.

Clean MVR also. (2 or less violations within the last 5 years).

7 year criminal background WILL be run and reviewed if any offer of employments are made.

We have rotational schedules available, some man camp availability, relocation bonuses available after 3 months with the company.

If anyone is interested call/text our national recruiter LindaSue (she was a driver for schneider for 6.5 yrs!) @ 281.608.4053 anytime between 8am and 6pm.

We have other opportunities around the country as well (North Dakota, West Texas etc...).

"Some basic requirements in STX: Drivers: MUST have 1.5 yrs CDL A driving experience..."

That's part of the problem. Some people got hauled down here to start the job just a couple months ago, then they got this suddenly sprung on them, so not everybody has the experience under their belts. (Though some of the people getting laid off are people with years on their records who came down here to get out of OTR.)
