    Hello all,

    I'm just dropping by to introduce myself and the husband but likely won't say much else for a good while as I don't feel qualified to comment on any posts. I have joined this forum to help my husband make the best choice for our family, as far as who to work for, steps that should be taken, pitfalls to avoid and just general information and advice from those who have gone on before us. Husband was in the militaryfor 14 years and when faced with a 6th deployment (he was 11B- infantry) we decided, as a family, that enough was enough. After almost 2 years of unemployment we became interested in truck driving. We are a close, mid-sized family with 5 kids, (ages 21 to 14) a son-in-law and a grand daughter. Family means everything to us and we're enjoying the ride! :D

    Hey Bumps...has anything ever stopped you?

    Didn't think so!!!

    Tablefor7....aw, bucking tradition aren't you? I thought it was 8 is enough!

    You can't learn by not asking questions...and the only stupid question is the one not asked. So jump on in...check out the different companies, keep in mind you will see both good and bad reports...you will be the one to decide which carries more merit. Plus there are some "just for fun" threads...

    http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...rything/120745-hijacking-club-membership.html

    Informational/Instructional threads:

    http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...ab-breaking-or-continuous-light-pressure.html

    How dumb can they be threads:

    http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr.../187839-the-no-sherlock-road-sign-thread.html

    And some TTR history threads;

    http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...rmation-center/150885-where-are-they-now.html

    Then if so inclined....you can dabble in Politics or Religion....be advised, these are un-moderated so some feathers will get ruffled and some language can get rough...

    WELCOME TO TTR....."The only way to fly"......*was that a patented advertisement slogan?*

    Ha, Ha....yes, 8 would definitely have been enough, lol....I would've had 10, truthfully, but by the time #5 (my ONLY boy, lol) came along my tiny body said "No mas, Señora!" Now that they're teenagers (ages 21-14) and 3 of them are still living with me, the grocery bill has convinced me God has WAAAAAAY better foresight than I do!

    I appreciate the encouraging words and links to follow :) Thanks!

    Yes, that *is* Fort Benning, lol. My husband and I grew up here...well, across the river in Phenix City, Alabama.

    Hey Tablefor7, welcome aboard. Please don't be shy in asking questions...as truckers wives we need a little support too. To be honest most of the time our husbands don't have time to really look into companies, and it helps to talk to other drivers here about those companies, so that we can share our information with them. If you ever have any questions, please feel free to ask...because someone will definitely be able to answer those questions.
