Thanks Sam. Yeah, I got this... Honestly, at this point I'm tired of waitin' around and ready to just get on with it.
By the way, good to see someone showin' respect for Ol' Popcorn.
I come from a long line of Appalachian preachers, coal miners and 'shiners. Keep the legend alive!
I know I'm going to regret this, but....

Whooo Hoooo!!
Just got my bus ticket for millington.
I leave on the 9th at 4:30am and arrive in Memphis at 8:55pm.
Long ### ride and I'll have a two hour wait for the shuttle to Millington AND I need to be awake at 4am Monday morning for the first day of class.
Yup...Monday is gonna suck.
It's cool though...I'll live and at least I'll be on my way.Sam Hell Thanks this. -
Hello" What company r u going to train with.
-
Oh wow after u train how long r u req to stay with them
-
You newbies really ought to stop thinking about how long to stay at a company and just concentrate on doing everything you can do to make that company want you to stay.
MarkDave68, desert_son and Sam Hell Thank this. -
If you have anything in your past, including accidents that were not your fault, bring documentation. I got rear ended while driving a company vehicle a about 4 years ago. I listed it everywhere I was supposed to. I ended up getting bused home to get a copy of the report from my former employer. (My former employer claimed they couldn't find it so I had to go look in their files for it.) It delayed my start by about a week.

I went to the swift school in Richmond, Va to get my CDL, that was probably early 2007 or late 2006 I remember it was cold but not the actual month.
In my experience about 80% of the class didn't pass, but of that 80% the vast majority failed the drug test or physical, a few others did thing like have accidents or flip out on an instructor but for the most part the drug test and physical is what did them in.
The only background check issue so to speak was that one person couldn't get thier permit because they owed apparently several thousand dollars in parking tickets, which don't hurt the driving record but the state said he had to pay before they would renew his license or give him a permit.
The accomodations were great for me, I drove in every day, it was a long drive but I would seriously not want to share a hotel room with most the people there.
The school itself wasn't half bad to be honest we had a dock we could bump and plenty of instructors on hand, it was way better than the CRE schools I have seen.
I had a terrible experience with swift, but I really thought the school they had wasn't half bad all things considered. I can't speak for how things are now or at other places though. -
