so this thus in turn eliminates the need for the transfer pump on the bottom driver side front corner on bottom side of engine? What was the purpose of this more pressure?

Not the one I use, I doubt very much it would last a week or two on a working truck. If I were building a road truck I would be using a FASS to supply fuel and by pass the transfer pump.

Old video, but it's one of the better ones.

Yes you bypass the t-pump, mine actually gave out so I went looking for a cheaper route, and that's what I came up with. The pump I use is pretty common, but the valves and seals are not, and have to be changed in an off the shelf pump to stand diesel fuel.

Its not just the pressure, you have to have a high volume at a certain pressure when you really start pushing fuel thru those injection pumps. My electric is a 300gph at 45psi, when my engine is under full load it will pull down to around 40psi on the gauge and stay there so the pump is running full out when I'm working my engine.

how much fuel pressure does a B model CAT need in the first place? i know the newer E models run upwars of 90-110 psi as i had one not to long ago.

yea i was figuring the pump you looked to be using wasnt for a diesel application there has to be an affordable full time working pump that can be used with both temp and pressure ranges needed on a working truck. Ive seen the pump your using in applications like meth/water kits, water pump intercooler kits, and oil transfer pumps for rear mounted autombile turbo systems. there has to be a way of deleting transfer pump.

also another question is where off the fuel system would you and do you plumb a feed for a pressure guage?off pump, line?

Does the B model transfer pump ever fail and when it does what are the symptoms? are they a gear driven or gerotor designs like the newer models?

The t-pump is a piston style pump, it runs off of the pump cam, it does fail on occasion. If you have the fuel filter base that came with the truck there should be a plug on the top side, this is where you will want to take your reading. No less than 40psi at an idle, and I think 32psi under load.

hey SC when the transfer pump fails what are some symptoms will the truck still run?

also on the port in filter base your talking about is this on the filter base that comes on the engine with the primer pump on top of it? if so yeah my truck still has it.

    Who's engine fan?

One person was having trouble, the little tweaks on a B/C model are hard to explain on the Internet. It's a whole lot different than throwing parts at an electronic engine.
