I'm home. Got here at the usual time of 8:30 this morning. I just spoke to Jason, I have to run over to Brooksville to drop my empty reefer and pick up a dry van Monday morning. My reload at the Port in Jacksonville won't load a reefer, that's why the dry van issue. This is the third time I've had an issue with my reefer. I can't wait for lettuce to start running, that way I'll load 25 miles from the house. Oh, I also got a call from safety, I have to pick up a new hire in Bunnell and take him to Pittston for orientation. Isn't life great, I now get to sleep for 2 nights in a 100 sq ft tin can with another man. Urghhh..........not happy.

Far too much time on my hands.

thats what happens when you get those gravy runs !!!!!!!! hehehe no jelousy here ... -
Gravy? I wish. From the time I leave the house, to the time I get back is four 11 hour driving shifts and about 2 hours on the last morning. 2 off hour pick ups and 3 off hour drops. 2800 miles and complete exhaustion. I wouldn't want it any other way. I've now done this for exactly 8 weeks and compared to my west coast runs to this, I make more, I reset at the house and get 3 full days off and am home every Friday at 8:30am.Last edited: Sep 9, 2012

I've been stewing about something the last few weeks. The first quote is from August 9th 2009 on the very first post I did to start this blog. As you can see, It was plagiarized for company advertizing purposes on the company website.
"Granted 4 days does not make a relationship, but ever since I answered the ad for a driver, everything that was said to me has been straight up and everyone I have met at the company has been very nice and welcoming to their "Family". I guess working for a smaller company like Calex (200 trucks) that isn't a driver mill or a training company you get treated like a person and not a number." - Anonymous
The second quote is from the recruitment ad's on craigslist.
"Regional drivers needed, Everything East of the Rockies. Come to where you can TRULY be a name not a number! Read what other drivers have to say about us at The Truckers Report.com. "
Here's what I'm thinking, any feed back would be greatly appreciated. I've been here for 3.2 years, have no accidents, incidents, late deliveries or pickups, help everyone I can, and get along with everyone I work with. What I do have on my squeaky clean record is 2 warning tickets for speeding that resulted in a clean level 3 inspection both times. My request? A raise. End of story.jlind, Cyanide and The Challenger Thank this.
